Poor Young Things Reveal Debut Full-Length

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 19, 2013

Toronto indie rock outfit Poor Young Things recently signed on to tour with Gloryhound this spring, and it turns out that these shows will be in support of a new album. The band's debut full-length is called The Heart. The Head. The End. and it will be out on May 21 via Bumstead.

The album was produced by Jon Drew (Fucked Up, Tokyo Police Club), who also helmed Poor Young Things' 2012 EP Let It Sleep. It was apparently written and recorded quickly and organically, and a press release explains, "Melodic yet unfussy with equal parts grit and groove, the 11-track album documents the band truly hitting its stride both artistically and creatively."

Frontman Matt Fratpietro said in a statement, "Our goal is to be able to make a living doing this — doing music, touring, seeing the country and seeing other countries. We don't want to make millions of dollars. It would be nice, but it would also be nice to do what you're passionate about for a living and be comfortable doing that."

The album art is above, and the tracklist is below. Scroll past the band's tour schedule with Gloryhound to watch a four-minute album trailer, which includes clips of music and insight into the writing and recording process.
