Dream pop two-piece Plastic Flowers are almost ready to reveal their latest EP Summer of 1992, but before it officially lands, they've shared a new video for album cut "Lucy" — and Exclaim! has got your first look at it.
The duo originally hails from Greece, but they made the move to London, UK, last year. That influence can be heard on the forthcoming four-song set, which draws inspiration from their locale, as well as England's rich musical history. Inspired by '80s London underground acts like Gentle Despite, Northern Picture Library and the Wake, as well as better known greats like the Cure, Plastic Flowers weave together echoing guitars, subtle synths and live drums into perfectly packaged hazy pop songs.
The accompanying visuals to "Lucy" contrast the shimmery, summery indie pop bounce of the song with footage of our protagonist having a rather rough day. The camera follows him around town as he becomes increasingly drunk and distressed. He ends up stumbling into a club where the sound of Plastic Flowers washes over him and he meets a lady friend — presumably named "Lucy." It was directed by Pedro D. Takahashi.
