Pink Mountaintops

"Asleep with an Angel"

When he's not fronting the Black Mountain collective, Vancouver's Stephen McBean can be found releasing music with his Pink Mountaintops project. The band returned with their Get Back LP earlier this year, but are already delivering some new tunes.

Last month, the group unveiled a static-y trailer teasing a new Pink Mountaintops 7-inch. The limited-edition, pink splatter vinyl is already available through French fashion line Aprill77, but A-side "Asleep with an Angel" has just now surfaced online.

The tune finds McBean in a lovelorn state at 2 in the morning, while "his heart just lays awake." He turns to the angel in the title to help him through the heartbreak, but he still sounds pretty sad at the end of it.
