Philip Glass's 'Candyman' Score Gets First Vinyl Release via One Way Static

While saying "Candyman" five times in the mirror may not magically grant you a fresh copy of Philip Glass's score to the 1992 horror flick, One Way Static is luckily giving us the album on vinyl for the very first time.

Set to ship October 28, the first-ever vinyl pressing of the Candyman score comes packaged in a gatefold sleeve with cover art showcasing not Candyman (a.k.a. actor Tony Todd), but the bees embedded deep with his mangled and rotting, fur coat-and-hook-adorned body. As such, one wax variant appears on "bee striped" vinyl, with another appearing on "silver mirror" vinyl, with the variants being randomly inserted among a run of 500 copies. The record will also appear on standard black wax and as a limited-edition cassette (400 copies).

Additionally, there is a pressing on clear yellow vinyl that will only be made available through horror master Clive Barker's official website. Barker's short story "The Forbidden" was the source material for Candyman.

The newly pressed score comes with liner notes about the project from Glass, Barker and Todd, as well as actors Virginia Madsen (Dune, The Haunting), Xander Berkeley (Salem, Kick-Ass) and Ted Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spiderman).

Glass's score for the supernatural psycho-drama was last delivered on the 2001 CD Philip Glass: The Music of Candyman. You'll find streams of the absurdly haunting "Music Box" and gothic choir-manned extension "Helen's Theme" down below.

In North America, you can pre-order the record at Light in the Attic here. If in Europe or anywhere else in the world, you can order directly from One Way Static here.
