After finding himself in a solo singer-songwriter situation earlier this year on debut LP Liberation!, former Walkmen bassist/organist Peter Matthew Bauer has cast off a new single, "You Always Look for Someone Lost."
Built around a solid foundation of folky strums and Bauer's calm and contemplative vocals, the song analyzes the mysteries of life, longing and a whole heap of trouble ("You always run to someone, no one you ever trusted / You always look for someone lost"). Along with the journey, crossing gates, oceans and gypsy camps, the arrangement opens up to include female backups, boot-spur jingling and misty-eyed guitar slides.
