Patrick Wolf Recruits Tilda Swinton To Be His "Voice of Hope"

BY Dave FisherPublished Jan 12, 2009

The high amount of anticipation regarding Tilda Swinton (Burn After Reading, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Michael Clayton) will appear on four tracks. Currently her role on the album has been indicated as the "voice of hope" or in layman's terms, the narrator on those songs.

The two met at the 2008 premier of Julia, where Wolf approached her regarding the album. In relation to working with Wolf, Swinton said, "My feeling is that we almost certainly come from the same planet: kith and kin. His music feels like the unexpressed soundtrack of a great film I want to see - and try to catch every night before I go to sleep. It's a lovely thing to be a part of that magical landscape."

Battle is yet to receive a confirmed release date but looks like it will be out towards the end of February. Last December, Wolf declared that this album would be financed by bandstock.com, which gives fans the ability to buy shares in the album.
