Pallbearer Treat '2010 Demo' to Vinyl Reissue

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 16, 2014

Pallbearer laid out the Foundations of Burden earlier this year with their sophomore set of the same name, but the troupe will be showing us even more groundwork by reissuing their 2010 demo for the masses.

Titled, fittingly enough, 2010 Demo, the Arkansas doomsmiths early-days release drops through 20 Buck Spin as a one-sided 12-inch on December 9. Originally issued as a CD-R and later as a limited-edition cassette, this will be the first time the demo arrives on vinyl.

The record features early versions of "The Legend" and "Devoid of Redemption," which would both appear in altered form on Pallbearer's 2012 debut full-length, Sorrow and Extinction. Rounding out the set is the demo's exclusive, sludged-up cover of "Gloomy Sunday," written by Hungarian composer Rezső Seress in 1933 and later recorded by the likes of Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Björk, Diamanda Galas and Elvis Costello.

On the visual end of things, the cover art was done by longtime visual collaborator Animetalphysical, while the B-side etching was done by Mike Lawrence.

In addition to the upcoming release, Pallbearer have a number of tour dates to get them through 2014. This includes stops in Toronto and Montreal with Tombs, and a December stop in Vancouver with Sólstafir and Mortals. You'll find all of the show info down below.
