Earlier this year, it was announced that the long-running Ottawa Folk Festival would be rebranding with a new name and location for its 2015 instalment. Dubbed CityFolk and slated to take place at Lansdowne Park, the festival's organizers have now unveiled the massive lineup for this year's event.
Topping the list are big-name folk-tinged favourites like Van Morrison, the Avett Brothers, Wilco, and Of Monsters and Men.
An array of homegrown and international artists round out the bill, including Passenger, UB40, the Tubes, the Sheepdogs, Patrick Watson, Walk Off the Earth, Lord Huron, Elle King, Lisa LeBlanc, Lucinda Williams, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Amy Helm, Lucius, Lee Harvey Osmond, Steep Canyon Rangers, Built to Spill, the Barr Brothers, Wintersleep, Sun Kil Moon, Will Butler, Steve Poltz, Fortunate Ones, the Everyone Orchestra, Frank Fairfield & the Down Hill Strugglers, Terra Lightfoot, Scarlett Jane, and Charlie A'Court — with still more to be announced before the event.
"We are looking forward to moving CityFolk to the Great Lawn at Lansdowne Park, adjacent to the football stadium," said executive and artistic director, Mark Monahan, in a statement. "The new site at Lansdowne Park provides us with an accessible, world-class venue that we'll have the privilege to animate, while creating a magical experience for Ottawa festivalgoers."
In its new location, the festival is expecting more than 50,000 attendees. CityFolk runs from September 16 to 20, and you can find full ticketing options and festival details at the official website.
