Jeff Johnson's long-running OK Vancouver OK project (guess what city he's based in) will release their latest album Food. Shelter. Water. on April 20 via Kingfisher Bluez. Before that's out, you can stream the whole album now via Exclaim!
Recorded with Eli Moore of K Records band Lake, the record benefits from rich sonics, adding layers of guitar interplay, synth and general aural warmth that sets it apart from Johnson's previous lo-fi endeavours.
It also sees Johnson working with a new three-piece lineup, though the music is still decidedly his. "I write the songs. I write the lyrics," he tells Exclaim!, adding, "I also listen to suggestions and I am happy to accept ideas that I like. I make people cry sometimes, and laugh. I love the current band."
