Noel Gallagher Planning Remix Project with Massive Attack, Andy Weatherall

It looks like Run the Jewels might not be the only act Massive Attack will collaborate with this year, as Noel Gallagher has revealed he's got his sights set on having the trip-hop icons contribute something to a forthcoming remix project.

As previously reported, Gallagher and his High Flying Birds are due to drop their Chasing Yesterday album on March 2 via Sour Mash, but the bandleader explains there could be some altered versions of the LP material coming our way in the near future. According to Gallagher, it's possible these could be collected on an EP.

Already, Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve has delivered their version of Chasing Yesterday single "Ballad of the Mighty I," while UK producer Andy Weatherall has apparently finished an as-yet-undetailed remix for Gallagher. Plans are less concrete in regards to Massive Attack's involvement, but Gallagher notes he's reached out to the Mezzanine makers.

"Andy Weatherall has done one already," Gallagher explained in an interview with Q [via NME]. "A guy who used to be in the Psychonauts called Pablo who goes under the name of Toy Drum, he's done one. Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve have done something and I'm speaking to Massive Attack. There are a few things going on. There might be a remix EP coming out sooner or later. It's all up in the air at the moment."

Massive Attack have not confirmed the remix on their end. As previously reported, they recently brought Run the Jewels' Killer Mike and El-P into their UK studio, though the details on what they've recorded has yet to be revealed.
