Nick Oliveri to Appear on New Queens of the Stone Age Album, Rejoins Kyuss Lives!
Earlier this month, Queens of the Stone Age let their listeners in on the good news that Songs for the Deaf drummer Dave Grohl had rejoined the fold for their next LP, and it looks as if another key player to the classic period lineup is back with the team. It's now reported that founding bassist Nick Oliveri will appear on the platter in some capacity, and it turns out the four-stringer has also rejoined Kyuss Lives!

The news came via the Facebook page for Oliveri's Mondo Generator project, which simply states: "Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned."

While it doesn't seem like Oliveri will deliver any low-end on the LP, this marks the first time he's recorded with the band since being fired from Queens in 2004. He and QOTSA leader Josh Homme, however, did appear together on Mondo Generator's 2012 set Hell Comes to Your Heart.

As previously reported, the thus-far-untitled Queens of the Stone Age record is expected to arrive sometime around June 2013 and features a guest appearance from Trent Reznor.

As for the Kyuss Lives! situation, Oliveri quit the reunited stoner troupe last March, feeling his time with the band had run its course, but it appears he's back in the mood to crank out some more desert rock classics. More info when we have it.
