The New Pornographers

"Dancehall Domine" (video)

They may be down a member, but Canadian indie rockers the New Pornographers are still plugging away at supporting this summer's Brill Bruisers.

Today (October 1), the band have unveiled a new video for album cut "Dancehall Domine," which pieces together footage of the group playing in a variety of wacky settings. It was made by Leblanc + Cudmore, and writer Scott Cudmore released the following statement about the clip:

Sometimes I like watching the b-roll or behind the scenes or outtakes on DVDs and blu-rays…"Dancehall Domine" is meant to feel like a whole bunch of those clips sort of strung together as if they're taken from some fucked up Italian or French musical maybe. Or a bunch of fragments from films like that—thrillers, bad romances, in one case we're clearly referencing Clouzot's famous L'enfer tests. We even have the man himself in there!

The new album is out now via Last Gang, and you can catch the new video for "Dancehall Domine" below.
