My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain and Cocteau Twins Featured in 'Beautiful Noise' Shoegaze Documentary
While we remain skeptical about Kevin Shields' promise that his beloved band My Bloody Valentine would issue a new album this year, the elusive shoegazers will be taking part in a new documentary called Beautiful Noise.

The project, which we featured way back in 2008, focuses on the wide reach that MBV had alongside their peers in Cocteau Twins and the Jesus and Mary Chain. In addition to focusing on the big three, the film also digs into the work of Ride, Slowdive, Chapterhouse, Curve, Swervedriver and many others.

There are also interviews with rock heroes who found inspiration in the shoegaze movement, including Wayne Coyne, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan and Robert Smith, among others. There are also performances documented from current shoegaze-indepted acts like Sigur Ros, M83, Ulrich Schnauss, A Place To Bury Strangers, Grouper, Tim Hecker and others.

In order to submit the film to festivals, pay licensing fees and eventually release Beautiful Noise on DVD and Blu-ray, filmmaker Eric Green is seeking to raise $75,000 by December 15. If you'd like to contribute to the project's Kickstarter, you can offer a pledge for all sorts of different rewards here.
