Brooklyn pop duo MS MR have been touring as Jessie Ware's opening act, and now they're ready to make their first full-length statement with the debut album Secondhand Rapture. Ahead of the album's May 14 release through Columbia Records, you can stream the whole thing on Exclaim.ca.
MS MR consists of Lizzy Plapinger (MS) and Max Hershenow (MR), who began recording in Hershenow's home studio in late 2010. He produced the album himself, with mixing and additional production provided by Tom Elmhirst (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Hot Chip).
The album includes the cinematically dramatic "Hurricane" (which got a crazy-looking music video) and the more percussively buoyant "Fantasy." Hear those songs, along with the rest of Secondhand Rapture, below.
MS MR are about to launch a headlining North American tour, and you can see all the upcoming dates here. These include Canadian stops in Toronto on May 22 and in Montreal on May 23.
