Contrary to Sauna's steamy namesake, Mount Eerie's upcoming album contains some very chilly music, and we can get a glimpse into songwriter Phil Elverum's dark vision with his new video for "This."
Directed by Peter J. Brant, it shows a kid reading a book in front of the fire. The rest of the images aren't nearly as cozy, since we witness a seemingly disconnected series of scenes shot from the soggy outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. All of this is a good fit for the song, which is a spooky organ dirge in which Elverum duets with layered female vocals.
