Mormon Crosses

"Braxton Hicks" (ft. Mish Way) / "Amber"

Vancouver art punk outfit Mormon Crosses' tour-only Exit Type (Two) cassette featured an appearance from recent travel pal Mish Way of White Lung. In case you didn't manage to grab a copy as the bands were crossing North America, you can now check out the collaborative "Braxton Hicks" single online.

A laid-back landscape of sparkling, Fall-inspired guitar work and 'lax drums support a spoken word entry from Way. In between coughing jags, Way's gravelly-voiced poetry presents vivid descriptions of a "staircase to nowhere," a cryptic note that "the terrorist has instinct", and various other allusions before capping it all with a succinct, "there's nothing more to speak about/ there's nothing more to our language."

Also uploaded was a dreamy, post-grunge explosion called "Amber," which sounds something like an old Fugazi song being performed using a litany of mind-expanding guitar pedals. You'll find both tracks in the stream down below and for sale on Bandcamp.
