Modest Mouse Preparing 'Strangers to Ourselves' Companion Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Mar 10, 2015

Pacific Northwest indie rock veterans Modest Mouse will soon break an eight-year silence between studio albums with the arrival of their Strangers to Ourselves LP. Fortunately, it looks like there won't be that much wait for a follow-up, as frontman Isaac Brock says he's nearly done another album.

Speaking with HMV [via Stereogum], Brock said he's been planning a companion to Strangers all along. "I'm pretty far along with the next one as it is. I went in to making this one with two records in mind."

He added that he won't make us wait quite so long for another album. "It'll be released as quickly as it's legally allowed to be. It's a partner to this one."

First things first, Modest Mouse will release Strangers to Ourselves on March 17 via Glacial Pace. Listen to "Of Course We Know" below.
