Last year, Artoffact Records chronicled French electronic producer Remy Pelleschi's Mlada Fronta project with the 10-CD collection Every Thing, which we gave our coveted Mark of Excellence and justly dubbed "a glittering sonic gem." Moving forward, the project will return on November 4 with a new album called Polygon, but you can already steam it right now on Exclaim.ca.
This is Pelleschi's first Mlada Fronta album in close to a decade, and clearly this length of time left the musician with no shortage of new ideas. Polygon is a hefty offering, containing 13 tracks that mostly clock in at over five minutes.
It's a very long album, but it doesn't drag, since the beats come hard and fast, with thumping grooves and in-your-face synths running through nearly every song and giving the whole album a danceable pulse.
