Miley Cyrus Visits British Columbia to Raise Awareness About Wolf Cull

For all of her headline-baiting onstage antics and weird musical collaborations, pop star Miley Cyrus is a politically active young woman. Where most celebrities resort to online slacktivism to support their various causes, Miley actually shows up. That's why she spent the weekend in British Columbia to raise awareness about the wolf cull.

Earlier this month, Cyrus was promoting a petition to save BC wolves from being hunted from helicopters. Premier Christy Clark responded by saying that Cyrus was misinformed about the wolf cull. Rather than leave it at that, Cyrus hopped on a plane and visited British Columbia.

While in BC, Miley visited with the advocacy group Pacific Wild. In a press release from them, she was quoted as saying, "When I first spoke out, I knew in my heart that the wolf cull was wrong.... But after this visit, I know science is on my side, not just on the wolf cull, but also on the trophy hunt issue. Both are unsustainable and both are horrific. Both have to end."

As the CBC reports, Cyrus was spotted throughout the small BC community of Klemtu, where she visited with locals. She also visited Spirit Bear Adventures, a local wilderness tour company.
