Michael Feuerstack Leaves His Snailhouse Alias Behind for 'Tambourine Death Bed'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 27, 2013

Montreal-based songwriter Michael Feuerstack is better known by his alias Snailhouse, but that will change this spring when he releases his first album under his own name. Tambourine Death Bed is due out May 7 through Forward Music Group.

The 12-track collection features contributions from Canadian sax god Colin Stetson, Little Scream leader Laurel Sprengelmeyer, Luyas' Mathieu Charbonneau, former Islands collaborator Sebastian Chow, Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara, and more.

According to a press release, this album marks a new beginning for Feuerstack and "weaves together all of the rich experience and influences of his vast and varied career."

The folksy "Bones in the River," which doesn't sound like a huge departure from his work as Snailhouse, is streaming at the bottom of this page. Scroll past the tracklist to check it out.
