Underground indie-rap heads rejoice! After 15-plus years of persistent work put in individually via different facets of the industry, Ohio native sons MHz (Copywrite, the late Camu Tao, Tage Future, Jakki Da Motamouth and producer RJD2) have finally released their long-overdue debut album, MHz Legacy, and it doesn't disappoint. First off, the production on this album is bananas. Okay, let's see: Harry Fraud? Check. He graces the crew and guest MC Danny Brown with some next-level sonics for the canned extraterrestrial wobble heard on "Spaceship." Stu Bangas serves up his trademark futuristic serial-killer strings on "Addictionary," which the MHz crew and guests Ill Bill and Slaine weave through seamlessly. And on "Satisfied," RJD2 crafts a nice, breezy head-nod that guest Slug of Atmosphere sounds pretty comfy over. On "Tero Smith," featuring Aaron Livingston, Copywrite and the boys take time to pen an ode to fallen compatriot Camu, who is surely sadly missed at this time when they have finally seen the fruits of their individual labours culminate in this very dope album. Kudos to MHz.
