The latest in a string of preview cuts from Metric's album Pagans in Vegas has now arrived, and it's a dark anthem titled "Lie Lie Lie."
The song thumps along with a futuristic swing that sounds a heck of a lot like Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus." Emily Haines sings grim, society-questioning lyrics about sedation, celebrity and lobotomies, and the space-aged blues rock arrangement sports acoustic guitar, laser sounds and passages punctuated by handclaps and cries of "hey!"
Hear the song below. Pagans in Vegas will arrive on September 18 through MMI/Crystal Math/Universal.
