Synth-y Canadian rock stars Metric have already released a few songs from their forthcoming Pagans in Vegas, and now they've rolled out another with "Fortunes."
The song features a surprising juxtaposition between its verse and chorus. While the verses are slinky and slightly ominous in their low-key grooves, the arrangement goes widescreen when it swells during the chorus. It takes on an orchestral orchestral rock grandeur as it transforms into a straightforward mega-ballad.
