Members of Explosions in the Sky and Eluvium Announce Second Album as Inventions

Last year, Explosions in the Sky member Mark T. Smith teamed up with longtime touring- and labelmate Matthew Cooper (of Eluvium) to form Inventions, releasing their self-titled debut album. Though a full year hasn't even passed since its release, they've already announced a follow-up effort.

Called Maze of Woods, the new LP features eight new songs from the duo. A press release explains that the album was inspired by a section from Denis Johnson's Train Dreams novella.

The album will arrive on March 17 through Temporary Residence. In addition, its digital release will also come with a three-song remix EP featuring contributions from the Field, Leyland Kirby and A Winged Victory for the Sullen.

Check out the tracklisting for Maze of Woods below, along with a stream of the album's "Springworlds."
