Megadeth's website is currently home to a countdown clock that is set to hit zero tomorrow (October 2). It's fair to assume that the metal legends will share all of the details for their new album at that time, but in the meantime, they have rolled out the new track "Fatal Illusion."
The track is a thrashing, powerful metal anthem that packs a hell of a lot into its four-minute runtime. Opening with rumbling ambience, it moves into a looming intro before exploding into a a hard-charging surge that's filled with shredding guitar heroics, growling vocals and jackhammer rhythms.
Hear the song below, and expect more information to emerge when Megadeth's countdown clock runs out tomorrow.
The new album was recorded in Nashville with production from Toby Wright and the band's own Dave Mustaine. The results were mixed by Josh Wilbur.
