Matthew Dear Takes 'Beams' on North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 8, 2012

As previously reported, electronic dark pop maestro Matthew Dear is releasing his next LP, Beams, August 28 through Ghostly International. The album is being touted as a more rock-centric release than Dear's past work, and he and his band will get the opportunity to bash out their new numbers this fall when they tour North America.

Dear will follow up a late-September performance at Seattle's Decibel Festival with a month's worth of dates between October and November. The trip will hit up a number of U.S. cities, but will also have Dear performing in Toronto and Montreal.

Dear will be supported on the bulk of the dates by Berlin-based, Brooklyn-bred outfit Light Asylum. You can check out the details down below.

While previously premiered number "Her Fantasy" repped an electro-pop sound, Dear has unveiled another teaser track titled "Earthforms" that's been praised for its "manic punk pulse." You can check the wriggly bass guitar-driven tune below those concert dates.
