Today (November 30), world leaders are meeting in Paris for the UN Climate Change Conference. In an effort to show leaders that all eyes are on them, filmmaker Darren Aronofsky has teamed up with French visual artist JR and Massive Attack leader 3D (born Robert Del Naja) for a new project called "The Standing March."

The piece involves a projection of a video on the Assemblée Nationale from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. It features 500 people, all from different backgrounds, looking directly into the camera. It launched last night (November 29) and will continue in the same location tonight before travelling throughout the city.

As the project's official website explains, the purpose of the piece is to "remind leaders that the world is watching as they gather to negotiate a deal aimed at keeping global warming below 2°C."

Further, the site explains, "The video represents more than 500 persons from different backgrounds united around the idea that the conference must end up with meaningful agreements between the countries. The protagonists, who joined the artists after a call for participation, have been filmed separately, rotating themselves on a green background and united to create a representation of humanity."

Watch a clip of the video below, where you'll be able to hear some of 3D's score.

The Standing March

LIVE NOW ! I am revealing now the collaboration I have done with filmmaker @DarrenAronofsky. The Standing March, a major public artwork to be exhibited in Paris during the UN's COP 21 climate conference. The video projection will remind leaders that the world is watching as they gather to negotiate a deal aimed at keeping global warming below 2°C. It is right now being projected on the Assemblée Nationale until 4am and tomorrow Monday night from 8pm until 2 am.For security reasons, marches are forbidden in Paris. But our art piece is a silent march. And we are marching, backed by the Assemblée Nationale, the heart of the French democracy. We must think about our future, the future of our environment and this is our answer to those who want to control our present.#TheStandingMarchWebsite: TheStandingMarch.comMusic by 3D from Massive Attack
