Maryland Deathfest Announces Initial 2016 Lineup

Though metal fans that attended last month's Maryland Deathfest are likely still recovering from a mean case of bangover, the long-running extreme music event has already dropped lineup details for 2016. So far, major players including black metal gods Venom, Swiss unit Samael, the Haunted and more.

Today (June 26) organizers unveiled the first wave of artists set to appear in Baltimore, MD, between May 26 to 29. As in years past, the shows will take place at venues including Edison Lot, Rams Head Live and Baltimore Soundstage.

While the whereabouts of the set has yet to be revealed, it's added that Samael's appearance will have them playing their 1994 LP Ceremony of Opposites in full. Other artists scheduled to hit stages include Jungle Rot, the reformed Bongzilla, Deströyer 666, the Death-saluting Gruesome, Exciter, Sinister, Hail of Bullets, Wormed, Lord Belial, Khold, Malignant Tumour, Severe Torture, Svartidauði, Wormed and more.

On the Canadian side of things, so far it's been revealed that Vancouver's Auroch, Victoria's Mitochondrion and Montreal's Phobocosm will be heading to Maryland Deathfest.

Early bird passes granting entry into all shows went on sale earlier today, but they've already sold out. Extra ticketing details are forthcoming.

This year's Maryland Deathfest featured performances from Napalm Death, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Neurosis, Amorphis, Excel, Martyrdöd, Tombs, Suffocation, Melt Banana, Triptykon, Ufomammut, Goatsnake and more.
