Following in the footsteps of Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation, Florida's Maruta have cemented their position as one of the forerunners of the deathgrind sub-genre with their latest, blindsiding effort, Remain Dystopian. Following 2011's Forward into Regression, the new record marks the band's third full-length and Relapse debut, and sees Maruta perfect their ultra-heavy, brutal approach to modern deathgrind. Chaotic yet focused, Remain Dystopian is violent and powerful throughout its 17 tracks, featuring crushing death metal fury that collides with a speedy whirlwind of visceral, pummelling grind.

Maruta slow things down, however, during tracks "Submergence aka Barren Oceans of Infinity" and "Return to Zero," which offer a much-needed breather from the havoc while maintaining a harrowing atmosphere. Recorded in various studios with the likes of Pig Destroyer's Scott Hull and Torche's Jonathan Nuñez, and featuring guest appearances from Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, Disfear), J.R. Hayes (Pig Destroyer) and Jay Randall (Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Remain Dystopian makes major waves, propelling Maruta to deathgrind's forefront.
