Marlon James

"Wound Up" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 1, 2015

As a freelance producer, musician, composer and engineer, Toronto-based music man Marlon James has worked with an impressive array of artists that includes Birthday Boy, Iman Omari and Tanika Charles. He's ready to make a name for himself, though, with a self-titled EP arriving before the end of the year. To give you an idea of what to expect, Exclaim! has got your first look at his brand new video for "Wound Up."

The track blends electro and indie rock sensibilities with James' soulful vocals, and the visuals are equally twisted. The clip sees a trio of cosplaying ladies cruising through Toronto, drinking, shopping and indulging in a little karaoke. Their male counterparts have a little less fun, as they get turned into brutally battered victims of voodoo.
