Mark Lanegan Band

'Blues Funeral' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 30, 2012

In recent years, former Screaming Trees leader Mark Lanegan has favoured collaborative albums with Isobel Campbell over his own works, but that will change on February 7 when 4AD releases Mark Lanegan Band's Blues Funeral. In anticipated of that new record, you can stream the whole album right here at Exclaim.ca.

Even though he's not working with Campbell for the moment, Lanegan clearly hasn't tired of teaming up with high-profile collaborators just yet, as the album includes guest spots from Josh Homme, Greg Dulli and Jack Irons. Recorded in Hollywood with returning producer Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age), it includes grim song titles like "The Gravedigger's Song," "Bleeding Muddy Water" and "Gray Goes Black." So evidently dude hasn't got any more cheerful in the years since he released 2004's Bubblegum.

Blues Funeral will be streaming here at Exclaim.ca all week until February 6. Get absorbed in Lanegan's bleak mood below.

UPDATE: This stream is no longer available.
