'Newport Authority 2'

Toronto-born, New York-based producer Marco Polo is dropping his new LP PA2: The Director's Cut this July via SoulSpazm Records, but before that arrives, you can check out his brand new Newport Authority 2 effort.

A statement from the artist claims that this isn't a mixtape, as Fat Beats will press the 13-song set at a later date, but for now you enjoy it as a digital freebie. Throughout the album, you'll find a couple of verses from Rakim, including the old-school soul-sampling "What's Wrong," while Big Daddy Kane spits knowledge on the fuzz-guitar-assisted "Nite & Day."

Other MCs on Newport Authority 2 include Tragedy Khadafi, Lil Fame, First Division, MidaZ and Big Gutta. Further sharing the spotlight on the gritty release, Polo also asked Shylow and DJ Revolution to add some scratches.

You can stream and/or download Polo's Newport Authority 2 down below via 2dopeboyz. As the producer puts it, "the shit is free — so enjoy!"
