Last year, Edmonton filmmaker Kyle Armstrong unveiled his short Magnetic Reconnection documentary, featuring a score from experimental icon Jim O'Rourke and narration from Will Oldham (a.k.a. Bonnie "Prince" Billy). Soon, fans at home will finally be able to enjoy the movie thanks to an impending Blu-ray release.

Shipping will begin in early 2014. The standard cost is $20, but buyers can save $4 by pre-ordering it now. Get more information and, if you're so inclined, order a copy right here.

Magnetic Reconnection is a short documentary that contrasts footage of the Northern Lights with images of man-made decay around the town of Churchill in northern Manitoba. Armstrong previously told Exclaim!, "The aurora footage is probably the best footage ever captured, as I travelled with an auroral imaging specialist with two decades of experience, and a custom built digital IMAX camera, purposely built for shooting the northern lights."
