Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs to Finally Get Vinyl Treatment with Ten-Inch Box Set

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Feb 1, 2010

Last summer, Merge Records announced the release of a limited-edition, deluxe version of the Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs on ten-inch vinyl. It was to mark the first time the album would be available on vinyl and it was to hit shelves on the suitably clever release date of June 9 (6/9, get it?). However, that date came and went with no vinyl release of Stephin Merritt's high-water mark. Thankfully, we finally have another release date, which we hope is set in stone this time.

On April 20, Merge will release the tome, which includes six ten-inch LPs, a ten-inch version of the booklet that comes with the CD box set and a coupon for free download, all housed in a very classy cardboard slipcase, according to Pitchfork. People who pre-order it from the Merge store will get $10 off and a Magnetic Fields-themed valentine e-card.

In other Magnetic Fields news, Merritt will soon go 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
