Madlib Cancels Appearance at Vancouver's New Forms Festival, Replaced by Dâm-Funk

We've got good news and bad news for Vancouver music fans planning to attend this month's New Forms Festival. The bad news is that hip-hop vet Madlib has cancelled his appearance; the good news is that Dâm-Funk is taking his place.

Madlib hasn't given a reason for his cancellation, but a press release from New Forms indicates that it's a rather personal matter. The festival said, "At this time our thoughts are with his family."

Anyone with a New Forms pass (or a festival ticket for September 18, when Madlib was scheduled to play) will get access to Dâm-Funk's show in addition to Madlib's future makeup performance. This seems like a pretty generous offer to us.

New Forms will run from September 18 to 21 at Science World. Other performers at the festival include Oneohtrix Point Never & Nate Boyce, Adam Marshall (of Graze), Inga Copeland, Lnrdcroy, Sinoia Caves, Clinker, Davachi/Smith, Young Braised & Soledad Munoz, and more.

Tickets are available here.
