Lucero Announce 'Women & Work' LP, North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 25, 2012

It's been three years since Lucero released their last album, 1372 Overton Park, but the country-touched rock troupe have announced another set of tunes, which will come under the banner title Women & Work.

The Memphis sextet's latest album comes out March 13 via their new home, ATO Records. The 11 originals that make up the album were tracked at Ardent Studios in Memphis by producer Ted Hutt (the Gaslight Anthem), and finds the core members joined by esteemed sessions players Jim Spake (Solomon Burke, Ray Charles) and Scott Thompson (Al Green, Cat Power). According to the press sheet, the album is a collection of "barroom brawlers" and "lonesome laments."

The group, meanwhile, will be keeping company with their fans this spring when they head out on a lengthy tour that will also see them hooking up with Built to Spill and William Elliott Whitmore, among others. Lucero has two stops scheduled for Canada, in Toronto and Montreal. You can check out the details below.
