Richard Terfry, better known as Buck 65, has spent the last two decades establishing himself as a leader in innovation with his inimitable version of alternative hip-hop that blends elements of folk, blues and rock. In 2010, Buck celebrated 20 years of the ongoing experiment that is his career with a series of collaborations spread across three EPs. Now that work has been compiled on the new album 20 Odd Years.

The record will be hitting physical and digital shelves on February 1 via Warner Music Canada, but we've arranged a free stream of the album here for the next week.

20 Odd Years features highlights from Buck's 2010 EP series, along with some new, previously unreleased tracks. Among the collaborators are Islands' Nick Thorburn, Gord Downie, Hannah Georgas, Olivia Ruiz and Jenn Grant.

In a press release, Buck 65 explained the album's origins with the following statement: "Recently I came to realize that I've been getting weird on tape for 20 years. I decided to celebrate and invited a bunch of my fellow sub-normals to the party. We ate paste and pretended we knew what each other was talking about. It was uncomfortable a lot of the time, but lots of exciting music was frankensteined."

To see what he means, 20 Odd Years will be streaming on Exclaim.ca until January 31.
