Lil B

"Soul Food" (video)

Hip-hop hero Lil B seriously slowed down his rapid musical output after his Basedworld Studios set up was destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Since then, he's released two apps and become a central talking point in the NBA. He's also gotten his studio up and running again, so today we get some new music with "Soul Food."

The song's a mid-tempo, feel-good soul hit that kicks out the jams for five solid minutes. The Based God blesses Tidal with a shout out, accuses rappers of lying in the booth and shouts himself out for a lengthy, repeating section where he sings, "This is Lil B, yeah, Lil B, yeah."

The accompanying video sees our boy kick back on a staircase, rides around on a mountain bike, visits a convenience store and literally launders money, dropping a stack of cash into a washing machine at the laundromat.

Watch the video for "Soul Food." Thugged Out Pissed Off is coming soon.
