The dust has only just settled on Lana Del Rey's jam-packed 2014, but the cinematic songstress has already announced plans for her next album. She has announced that her next LP will be called Honeymoon.
Speaking with Billboard, Del Rey revealed that she already has nine songs written for the project. What's more, it seems the arrangements are already coming together, since she said, "The production is perfect; I'm looking for a few more songs to tie everything together."
The style is apparently a return to the sound of her early work. "It's very different from the last one [2013's Ultraviolence] and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise," she said. "I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noir-ish feel for this one. It's been good."
Presumably this means she will be embracing the Old Hollywood feel of her breakthrough work rather than the live-band style of Ultraviolence.
The album will apparently include a version Nine Simone's jazz classic "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." There's no word as to when the album will be out, but it doesn't seem that Lana is beating around the bush with this one.
This comes hot on the heels of the soundtrack for Tim Burton's new film Big Eyes, which included a couple of contributions from Del Rey. Ultraviolence came out back in June of 2014.
