Last month, Swedish pop star Robyn revealed a new project called La Bagatelle Magique. Now, the group — which also features Robyn's touring keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt, plus late producer Christian Falk — have shared a song called "Love Is Free."
This song was previously teased with a lopping snippet. The whole thing has now premiered through Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show. It's a 13-minute dance epic in which a thudding electro pulse is overlaid with quirky synths and echoing repetitions of the title phrase. There are chopped up vocals, chants, and half-spoken singing, with the emphasis on energetic vibes rather than pop hooks.
This comes from a mini-album that's expected out this summer, although mixing isn't finished quite yet. Hear the song below, along with an interview with Robyn.
