Kiss Detail Vinyl Reissue Campaign, Announce 34-LP 'Kissteria' Box Set

Following some late 2013 buzz over an apparent vinyl reissue campaign, tongue-wagging rockers Kiss have gone ahead and detailed a massive 40th anniversary project that includes a 34-LP box set dubbed Kissteria.

Up first, however, will be the single LP reissues. The first 10 titles come April 1 through UME. The batch isn't just going in chronological order, bouncing from early LPs like 1974's self-titled debut,Hotter Than Hell, Dressed to Kill, Alive! and Destroyer into the discofied Dynasty, '80s platters Unmasked, Lick It Up, Animalize and 1992's Revenge.

May 6 sees the first-ever vinyl release of 1998's Psycho Circus, as well as represses of Asylum, Creatures of the Night, Love Gun and Unplugged. On May 27, the band's polarizing Music from the Elder will be delivered for the first time on vinyl in its concept album sequencing, along with the virgin vinyl debuts of Alive: The Millennium Concert and Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions. Also arriving that day are new pressings of Rock and Roll Over, Alive III, Crazy Nights and Hot in the Shade.

Finally, June 24 will find the band bringing out the latest vinyl editions of Alive II, as well as the 1978 solo albums from Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Gene Simmons.

The mega-release Kissteria has yet to be affixed with an official due date, but the giant box set will include all 27 of the records mentioned above, the band's most recent effort Monster, and exclusive pressings of best-of collections Killers, Double Platinum, Greatest Kiss, You Wanted the Best You Got the Best, Smashes, Thrashes and Hits and the concert set Kiss Symphony: Alive IV. These are all housed in an official Anvil Road Case, as you can see up above.

Also included in the box are a selection of archival posters promoting old tours and various LPs, a vinyl record mat, a cleaning cloth, signature dominoes — this referencing Gene Simmons-sung Revenge track "Domino" — band lithographs and more.

You can pre-order the set over here .

If, however, you're not a vinyl hound, the band will be toasting their 40th with yet another greatest-hits collection. Their Kiss 40 features — surprise — 40 songs spread out across two CDs, as well as demos, previously unreleased tracks and more. You'll find the tracklisting down below.

Don't forget, Kiss also announced a North American summer tour with Def Leppard earlier this week. The bands make their way into Canada once during the summer trip, playing Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on August 12.
