Kiss

Folgers Coffee Commercial (Starring Paul Stanley)

While Kiss's lengthy music merchandising career has had them selling anything from condoms to caskets, the one thing they've apparently had a hard time hawking is a hearty cup of jo. Close to 15 years ago, Paul Stanley was tapped to sing a jingle in a commercial for Folgers Coffee, but the Starchild's take was left on the cutting room floor. That is, up until now. After percolating for years, the long-lost commercial has now brewed up onto YouTube.

Apparently set off-hours in a circus tent, it finds Stanley strolling the round with a no doubt "Hotter Than Hell" mug of black gold, cheering on the high-flying acrobats' practice routine. Just after he gives up a few motivational lines ("The limit is the sky / Hey world, watch me fly") above an accordion arrangement, a righteous rock rhythm caffeinates the commercial for the familiar tag line.

"Why not? I wasn't at all concerned with who thinks it is okay or not okay, cool or not cool, rock'n'roll or not," Stanley had once said about the commercial [via Ultimate Classic Rock]. "I had a blast doing it and isn't that what this is all about?"

The best part of waking up was finding this oddball marketing move, which you can see for yourself down below.
