Kid Cudi

"JFKPSA"

A 52-year-old speech from John F. Kennedy has gotten new life thanks to rap explorer Kid Cudi, who has turned it into the basis for a new track called "JFKPSA."

The two and a half-minute track is fairly simple, consisting almost entirely of noodling guitar fuzz, plodding bass, and a four-on-the-floor beat that threatens to build up but never does. This serves as the backdrop for a recording of a speech delivered by Kennedy in 1963, in which he discusses the purpose and value of art. It sounds more like an intro track than a proper song itself, but the self-produced sonic sketch makes for an intriguing listen.
