Over the last few years, Jack White has released music with a massive array of studio collaborators, but he's still got a few team-ups that have yet to see the light of day. We're still waiting for that Jay-Z-featuring track to emerge, and now we've learned that White is also sitting on a few songs recorded with Rolling Stones six-stringer Keith Richards.
Richards told Rolling Stone that he linked up with White back in 2009, which would have been right around the time that the former White Stripes frontman launched his Third Man Records. Richards revealed that the pair did "a couple of tracks" and added, "I don't know if [Jack] ever considered that it was actually, like, master cuts. But at the same time, if Jack wanted to do it, I'd probably say, 'Yeah.'"
Richards described White as "a lovely player" and said that it's possible the Rolling Stones would recruit him as a producer if they ever recorded a new album. "The door is wide open," he said.
The Rolling Stones apparently plan to convene in July to discuss their 50th anniversary and talk about possibly recording new material.
