Following years of sporadic activity, Dallas, TX quintet Kaliya return with the DIY release of their self-titled full-length. Recorded by Garry Brents (Cara Neir) and mastered by Proscriptor of Absu, the album is dark, intense and absolutely crushing. Kaliya's grind-soaked, Swedish death metal-influenced sound is showcased throughout the recording with immense, powerful riffs, gnarly tones and harsh, inhuman vocals.

Heavy, pummelling grooves start the album off during "Resistance – Response," before the grinding "Left for Dead" kicks up the speed with chaotic ferocity. Unrelenting aggression continues with "The Hunter - The Prey," as well as throughout "To Spite the Face" and "The Exiled." Tracks like "Sins of the Father, Passed to the Son" and "All Will Be Forgotten, All Will Be Forgiven" feature suppressing grooves, while highlight "Human Meat" combines the best of both worlds. Fusing elements of Entombed, Nasum and Carcass, Kaliya have distinguished themselves with a unique yet familiar sound. This new set of tracks finds the band fully embracing a classic, back-to-basics approach.
