Ghanaian-Canadian singer Kae Sun returns with his latest record Afriyie on May 28 via Urbnet, but eager fans can preview the entire album right here.

The record follows up 2009's Lion on a Leash and incorporates influences like Sam Cooke, Lauryn Hill, Dennis Brown, Ben Harper, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan. These come together in Sun's signature blend of soul, folk and reggae, showcased throughout the 10 tracks on the new album.

In a press release, Sun says, "My background, how I live, and what I believe all inform the way I write." He continues to explain that his music strives to make listeners "feel the emotion and intent without being able to dissect the experience."

Sun will be taking the new material on tour soon, though details have yet to be revealed. He will, however, be making an appearance at the CBC Music Festival on May 25 at Toronto's Echo Beach.

Drawing from a wide range of inspirations from various places and times, Sun crafts an exciting and eclectic mix of music on Afriyie. Listen for yourself below.
