Jon Lawless

"White River" (Swim Good remix)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 27, 2015

Earlier this month, always-busy Ontario songwriter Jon Lawless dropped a full-length solo record called Out One Night. Never one to rest on his musical laurels, though, he's already reworked one of the tracks from that album — under his Swim Good moniker.

"White River" serves as Out One Night's closing number, delivering some heartfelt acoustic folk. As Swim Good, he's give the tune a total makeover, turning it into an electronic jam that attacks the ear with a dancefloor-ready beat right out of the gates. The vocals get warbled and the string-plucking is replaced by entirely digitized sounds, hitting listeners with a totally new take on the track.
