There have been rumblings of Johnny Jewel's score to Ryan Gosling's directorial debut Lost River for a couple of years now, and now fans of the disco-driven producer are about to hear the results. A soundtrack release will be served up on March 30 through Jewel's own Italians Do It Better imprint.
Though a detailed tracklisting has yet to arrive, a press statement from Jewel notes that the soundtrack features contributions from Chromatics, Glass Candy, Desire and Symmetry, as well as pieces Jewel prepped with actors Ben Mendelsohn and Saoirse Ronan.
Jewel explained that he's been working on Lost River with Gosling since February 2013, and now reveals, "I am so excited to finally be sharing this beautiful project with you."
Gosling added in a statement of the experience: "Johnny and I had a strong connection collaborating on the film. Johnny's music can be both beautiful and aggressive, blurring the line between fantasy and reality, and the romantic haze of his score complements the atmosphere of the town Lost River."
The first preview from the score is Chromatics' "Yes (Love Theme from Lost River)", which also features vocals from longtime collaborators Ida No (Glass Candy) and Megan Louise (Desire).
"Yes (Love Theme from Lost River)" is available to stream or download down below and is also available as part of a three-song single issued today on iTunes. The release also include remix of the song from Symmetry, as well as "Yes (Lullaby from Lost River)".
Lost River premiered at Cannes last year and is slated for a wider release on April 10.
As previously reported, Chromatics will release their Dear Tommy LP later this year.
