The Jesus and Mary Chain Unveil Vinyl Repressings of 'Barbed Wire Kisses' and 'The Sound of Speed'

The Jesus and Mary Chain have received a number of excellent reissues in the last couple of years, from expanded CD/DVD sets to vinyl repressings. Soon, a couple more selections from the noise-pop group's back catalogue will be coming back to wax.

On January 22, reissue label 1972 will release vinyl versions of the 1988 compilation Barbed Wire Kisses (B-Sides and More), and the subsequent 1993 collection The Sound of Speed. The former gives a snapshot of the band's early years and includes material from around the time they recorded their iconic 1985 album Psychocandy and the 1987 follow-up Darklands; as for the latter, its material is culled from around the time of 1989's Automatic and 1992's Honey's Dead.

While the tracklists haven't been formally announced, there's no indication that these will include any bonus material.
