While Justin Broadrick may have just released the debut by his supergroup Greymachine, dude is apparently not content to sit idle. Already, the former Godflesh mainstay has announced yet another EP from his shoegazing ambient doom project Jesu.
Called Opiate Sun, the four-track release is due out October 27. However, rather than Jesu's usual label home of Hydra Head handling this one, Broadrick's releasing the record through Caldo Verde, the imprint run by Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon.
Yeah, we're a bit surprised by that too, but according to the press release, "Mark was captured by the strength of Justin's performance when he saw him live in San Francisco in 2007. Therefore, he was only too happy to help out when the opportunity arose to be involved in this important project."
And while the label gives few hints as to what we can expect soundwise from Opiate Sun, it does offer a free download of the track "Deflated," which you can scoop up here.
Opiate Sun:
1. "Losing Streak"
2. "Opiate Sun"
3. "Deflated"
4. "Morning Light"
